I was just called "a weapon to pixels". Is that a good thing or a bad thing? You decide.
There's some good tips on GerryMcGovern.com. I wonder why I didn't find this page when I was searching for articles on writing for the web recently...
In the last week I've hardly spent any time at all on a computer. We were on holidays on the Sunshine Coast. Wonderful do-nothing-ness. We slept a lot. I read "Lullaby" by Chuck Palahniuk (weird and dark and funny as you would expect from the "Fight Club" author). I took pictures in my Mom's amazing garden (promise to post some later if they're any good). I picked raspberries galore and made jam. We walked on the beach and drooled over houses we can't afford.
Oh, and we watched television. You might think it funny I would mention this. But we don't normally watch any TV. We have no cable, no rabbit ears, nadda. So it was a really strange experience to immerse myself in that aspect of pop culture for a while. Like visiting a foreign place. Is it ever evil!! Never-ending messages of "Feel bad! Buy this to make you feel better!" mixed in with mostly light weight, useless, distracting information. What a time-sucker. Good riddance.
