We got *almost* the whole kit'n'caboodle moved. We underestimated how much there was left for the final load, so we had to leave some things stashed behind at our neighbour's place. The day stretched into a day and a half, we were barely out by the deadline, and my fingertips burned for 2 days, from all the packing tape. I don't think I've ever been so physically and mentally exhausted at the same time.
Lesson learned: even though I swear I'm never moving again, well, if I do, we're a) purging a lot more stuff, and b) getting big beefy movers with a big-ass truck. This do-it-yourself moving stuff is for college kids on a budget ;-)
But at least, we didn't move all the way across the country like Bill, so the last minute panic was easily resolved.
Anyhoo, the high speed isn't set up at home yet, so if you send us e-mail we may be delayed responding.
Anyone have experience with aclimatizing cats to a new home? We've had them locked in the house since Saturday, and aren't too sure when to let them explore outside. They seem fine but they sure want to go out!

There's no way it's only Tuesday. I can't express how exhausted we are with all this moving business!
We have too much stuff and have done too little purging. We're both packrats by nature, and frugal. Combine that with Kenton's years of working at a landfill, being tortured by the insane waste of some people in our communities, and you have a recipe for "can't-throw-that-out-itis". Brutal.
On a lighter note, we cooked our first dinner at the new place on Saturday. ("Royal We", that is, K is the cook mostly) Listened to a great mix CD made by my colleague Bryan while cooking. After dinner we went for a walk to the beach. We need flashlights and reflective wear. There's not a lot of street lamps out there. You should see the stars!
Friday we take up the last load, computers and all. I don't expect I'll have much to say before next week as a result. Talk to you soon.
